I grew up in Israel, in a multi cultural society. My founders came to Ness-Ziona from Russia in 1883. They were beekeepers and cultivated citrus trees. I heard many languages: Hebrew, English, Yiddish, French, Arabic and Greek. I learned to play sonatas on the piano and loved to hear my next-door neighbors’ Yemenite music.
I earned my MA at Lesley College, Boston, where we also lived for a while when I was a child.
I live in the north of Israel, half an hour between Nazareth and Haifa Bay. I work as an art therapist, and teach art students at Oranim College, where I also got my first degree.
I am interested in media and materials as a carrying a spiritual essence. Therefore, I am tuned to the materials art is done with- before the image and idea.
As an artist, I let my hands decide what they want to do in the studio. Their choice of medium and actions turns out to be authentic and most true to me. I wrote something about it, which you might like to download.
You are welcome to write to me here.
